September Update
Posted on September 16th, 2025
We’ve been thoroughly enjoying our break from Facebook, but we also know many of you want to stay in the loop about life here at Stormy Heights. September came in like a whirlwind—the leaves seemed to change overnight and are already beginning to fall.
Our summer and fall plans didn’t go quite as expected. RiverJoy has not gone into heat yet, and Miss Nova experienced a false pregnancy. Don’t worry—we still have exciting plans ahead for bringing new pups into the world. Nova will be re-bred when she cycles again (likely December/January), River will be bred as soon as she comes into heat (any day now), and Fable, our service-dog candidate, will be bred late fall or early winter. Our first CMDs, Artham and Nova, were both winter puppies, and I’m looking forward to repeating that process.
This summer we also welcomed a new stud to our program: FDM Bowser of STHH. This G5 boy is everything we could have hoped for—long, clean legs, taller than any of our other dogs, an easygoing personality, and a genuine love for people and animals alike. We’re excited for the temperament and size he’ll bring to his pups. One of my favorite things is watching the friendship he and Artham share. There’s no rivalry between these two studs, just goofy love.
We’re also in the process of evaluating a new stud candidate with our breeding partner at Tierhaus23—more on that soon! At home, we’re assessing two girls from the Nova/Artham litter: Journey and Mary. Journey is pure sunshine—always smiling, playful, and full of love. I’ve never seen even a hint of sass from her. Mary, who lives in a guardian home, shares her sister’s sweetness but carries herself with more seriousness. While Journey is chasing butterflies, Mary is busy raising baby goats and keeping watch for predators. Both girls will undergo DNA testing in the coming weeks and hip evaluations once they turn one. If all goes as planned, we’ll breed them next year and look forward to an abundance of Blue and Silver pups running around the homestead again. We sure miss the sound of little paws.
If you’re on our waiting list and hoping for a puppy sooner than we’ll have them, please reach out. We have several CMD breeder friends with wonderful litters on the ground right now. Our mission isn’t just to place our own puppies—it’s to help you find the perfect match for your family, even if that means connecting you with someone else.
Wishing you a happy fall,
Toni
